URL bar, tab bar, sidebars: you will often find references to different types of bars within Dolphin. Here are all of them:

  • URL bar: The URL bar is located at the top of the screen. This is where you type in URLs and search queries to visit websites and browse the web.

    • Note:

      • While browsing, the URL bar will display the URL you have loaded. To the left is the bookmark icon, to the right is the homescreen icon, and in the search field is a refresh/stop icon.

      • While typing in the URL bar, the QR icon will be to the left.

  • Search bar: The search bar is located in the upper part of your Dolphin homescreen. Type in a search query, and browse the web using the search engine of your choice.

  • Classic tabs bar: The classic tabs bar will be located at the very top of the screen, above the URL bar. It displays your open tabs, and lets you switch between them by swiping. Tap the “+” icon at the right corner to open a new tab. The classic tabs bar is not a default option in Dolphin Browser, and nd therefore needs to be activated from Menu > Settings > Classic  Tab Mode.

  • Toolbar: The toolbar is located at the bottom of the screen, and has five icons. Starting from the left, the arrow icons allows you to navigate to the previous or next page while browsing. The Dolphin icon gives access to Dolphin’s unique features: Gesture and Sonar. Next is the menu icon, which opens the menu. The last is the tab icon, which gives access to the tabs sidebar.

  • Bookmarks sidebar: The bookmarks sidebar is hidden in Dolphin’s left sidebar. It Can be accessed by Swiping to the right from the left edge of the screen, or by tapping the bookmark icon on the URL bar. The sidebar displays all your bookmarks, as well as your browsing history.

  • Tabs sidebar: The tabs sidebar is hidden in Dolphin’s right sidebar. It can be accessed by swiping to the left from the right edge of the screen, or by tapping the tab icon on the toolbar. The tabs sidebar displays all your open tabs. This is the default way of displaying tabs in Dolphin browser, but activating Classic Tab Mode disables the tabs sidebar.
